Dating 101... Don't consult your roommates--They'll consult you.

When a guy asks a girl on a date, he has no idea that he's really asking her entire apartment. In Juli's words "we come in a package". This doesn't mean that we're being polygamists or stealing each others men, but simply that we all have to approve of potential boyfriends. For example, here is an excerpt from a common conversation:
Girl 1: "Oh my gosh, you're finally home! So what happened? Did he hold your hand? Ask you on another date? Was there a DTR?"
Girl 2: "He is so sweet! He (insert sappy thing here)!"
Girl 1: "Oh my gosh you should date him!"
Girl 2: "Yeah... but he's an RM... and you know they only want one thing...and I'm just not ready for that...."

Usually girl 1 would sympathize with girl 2 and tell her whatever she thought girl 2 would want to hear, but a recent incident proved that if a roommate really wants you to do something, she'll let you know.

Madeline has recently falling in like with a charming, handsome young man. However, he is moving slower than a Friday night study session, and she isn't giving him any encouragement. Afraid of commitment and losing her independence, Madeline was indecisive. As you can see in the above picture, we let her know what our opinion is. I have blotted out the name to prevent any awkwardness, but the original picture will be posted as soon as they are officially dating. Because they will officially date... we hope :)

  1. You realize that the "unidentified person's" name is still readable, right?

  2. What is DTR? I'm an old fogie now.

  3. haha :) DTR stands for "Determine the Relationship". Basically it's the conversation that puts a label on the relationship... whether it's friends or more than friends :)
